Janelle McSweeney, BCYC, CYCC

Certified Grief Recovery Specialist

Janelle is a Certified Child and Youth Care Counsellor and a member of
the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta (CYCAA). She takes a
Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed approach, believing that with the
right support and skill development, growth is possible for everyone.

With a 14 year background in crisis support, Janelle helps youth
navigate challenges like emotional regulation, anxiety, behavioral
concerns, self-esteem, and stress management. She also has extensive
experience supporting adults through grief and loss using the Grief
Recovery Method, providing a compassionate space for them to process
emotions, find healing, and regain a sense of hope.

Janelle values collaboration between youth and their families,
fostering a supportive environment where new skills can be practiced.
She approaches her work with warmth and acceptance, creating a safe
space for clients of all ages to feel heard, understood, and empowered
on their healing journey.
